Overview of the Global Combat League
The Global Combat League is more than just a wrestling tournament – it's a global phenomenon that brings together the best talent from around the world. Here are some key features that make this event extraordinary:
Elite Competitors: The 8-person bracket is filled with world-class wrestlers, each with their unique styles, backgrounds, and fan followings. From technical grapplers to high-flying daredevils, to deathmatch brawlers the diversity of talent ensures every match is a must-watch.
Intense Matchups: The round robin tournament format guarantees high stakes in every bout. Each match is worth 5 points and points only come from wins regardless of method. With 4 matches a week for 7 weeks and a championship match at the Grand Finale.
Grand Finale: The culmination of the tournament is the championship match where the last two wrestlers with the highest point total battle for the ultimate prize – the Global Combat League Championship Belt.
Unique Experience: Matches will not be contested inside a traditional wrestling ring. At GCL we strive to bring fans a unique experience they won't find anywhere else so every match up will take place in the Global Flex Cage. This circular cage measures 25 feet in circumference and 60 inches from the mat to the flex gel filled tubing around the top of the cage. The walls are traditional chain link that has been stretched to create tension, the tension allows competitors to spring off in ways never seen in wrestling. While leaving the cage under any circumstances is an automatic disqualification, performing the same aerial maneuvers you typically would from the top rope of a wrestling ring is encouraged.

How it works OOC
GCL will be a seasonal Twitter/Roleplay hybrid. The format is straight forward and simplified to provide a fun COMPETITIVE atmosphere without being time consuming. Here is how things will work:
Season Format: The first 7 weeks of each season matches will be determined by tweets. There will be 4 matches per week. Competitors get 5 tweets using a show specific hashtag that will be announced with the matches for the week. Results for each match will be presented as a summary contained within a single tweet including key highlights, winner, method of victory, and match time.
Grand Finale: After 7 weeks the two competitions with the most points move on to the main event of the Grand Finale. That match will be determined by roleplays and will be fully written. Roleplays have a limit of 2000 words with a 500 word buffer. Roleplays must be a balance of promo and story with no more than 250 words difference. Undercard matches will be decided by tweets, and non-tournament participants are encouraged to take part. Undercard match results will still be in the form of tweets but will be more detailed and span 3-5 tweets.
