ABOUT US
MC & Friends is helmed by a group of award-winning entertainers and educators who are committed to providing fun and educational videos, lesson plans, and activity sheets for teachers and parents. During the pandemic, MC & Friends hosted free live Zoom classes for students and teachers across the nation and around the world to help keep kids engaged in their lessons under such unprecedented circumstances. It is our goal to help level the playing field for all young learners by providing free and accessible standards-based educational content for Pre-K through Second Grade students worldwide through entertaining videos, live online classes, and activities.
THE POWER OF PUPPETRY
Countless research studies and stories have proven puppets to be vital tools in education and therapy for children. Puppets can be effectively utilized in early childhood and elementary school settings – not only for traditional subjects, but for social and emotional learning, as well – by:
- Motivating students who are shy or hesitant to engage in conversation through play
- Acting as a role model to give children practice speaking in front of a group
- Offering social or emotional “protection” - providing a buffer between children and the world, classmates, or adults
- Aiding in the understanding of important social and emotional concepts
- Helping children understand and resolve conflicts respectfully by modeling healthy behaviors
