Musician writer, poet , storyteller
Ginger Lane is a soul-folk musician, writer, and storyteller from Wollongong, NSW. Her work is deeply personal, reflecting her life experiences, emotional journey, and connection to the natural world. Ginger Lane’s art encompasses music, poetry, and memoir writing, all characterised by themes of introspection, independence, and the exploration of life’s patterns.

Written in Austinmer , NSW, and brought to life at Lev Productions in Mullumbimby, Blue Therapy was another step forward for Ginger Lane as an artist. It was the first track she arranged using GarageBand and marked her debut in directing, editing, and creating a music video. “This song was another way for me to explore telling my story through my art,” she shares.
The production process at Lev Productions elevated the track to a new level, bringing out its full potential. The result is an upbeat yet deeply meaningful song. Blue Therapy reflects on the healing power of nature—whether it’s staring at the ocean or exploring rock pools. The lyrics capture the solace found in confiding in the natural world during tough times, reminding us that “every season has a reason” and life is fleeting. It’s a heartfelt call to be present, embrace gratitude, and find peace in life’s natural world.
Written and recorded at her home in the Northern Rivers during the COVID lockdowns, this song holds a deeply personal significance for Ginger Lane. “It’s like a tattoo for me,” she shares. Living in isolation alongside other incredibly talented artists, she found inspiration in the wisdom of Alan Watts, which heavily influenced the song’s lyrics.

“I felt pretty awkward the whole time—I had no idea what I was doing,” she admits with a laugh. “But I knew I needed to start somewhere, and I’m so glad I did. That experience sparked my love for collaboration and a real drive to share my music with the world”

Ginger’s life experiences serve as the foundation of her artistry. In 2019, she embarked on a transformative journey, living minimally out of her car and working on farms in the Northern Rivers. These adventures were both isolating and enlightening, as she often found herself without reception or human interaction, connecting instead with the natural world. Cold showers, ocean swims, and physical labor defined her days, and these moments of simplicity and introspection became central to her creative voice.
‘This journey was incredibly overwhelming, especially in moments of solitude. It took me to so many places, but I always found myself returning to that solitude, where I could write it all out and create Blueberry Therapy. It became my way of letting go of my shadows, unraveling the overwhelming anxiety and irritation, and confronting that constant feeling of running away. Through this process, I discovered how to find a sense of home within myself
