My Bio

As a passionate and inspiring educator, my goal is to inspire high school students through the exploration of history and art. With a 12-year background in the U.S. Navy, I have honed my leadership and communication skills, which have proven invaluable in my role as a teacher and mentor for young minds.

Proudly serving as an active member of LFCI Kitsap chruch, I have extensive experience leading Bible study groups and fostering spiritual growth within my community. My unique approach to education extends beyond the classroom, as I am also a Dungeon Master for tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) in Bremerton, WA . This role has allowed me to teach new players the basics of TTRPGs while encouraging them to exercise their creative and problem-solving abilities.

My diverse background and enthusiasm for teaching make me an ideal candidate for any high school seeking an innovative and engaging history or art educator. I am committed to empowering students through immersive learning experiences, ensuring that each student discovers their potential and develops a lifelong appreciation for history, art, and creative expression.

Conclusion: My reflections

Throughout Unit 1, I faced various challenges and learned valuable lessons about professional writing and my future career. Working on the brief introduction, professional bio, audience analysis, CV, cover letter, and content portfolio was a demanding process, but it allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of my strengths, experiences, and how they align with my targeted employer, Learning Care Group.

One significant challenge I encountered was effectively presenting and adapting my teaching experiences in the Navy and my hobbies into something appealing and valuable for the Learning Care Group. It took considerable effort to assess and reframe these experiences to emphasize their relevance to the specific job requirements.

The audience analysis was an exhaustive process, as it required me to thoroughly review the company's website and job listing to extract and synthesize essential information. It was challenging to condense this information and maintain focus on the key elements that would resonate with the Learning Care Group's values and expectations.

Writing the cover letter was a valuable but labor-intensive exercise, as it involved connecting my diverse experiences to the specific job requirements and demonstrating my genuine interest in the position. The content portfolio showcased my unique skills and experiences, from 3D printing to teaching Dungeons & Dragons, and helped me realize how these abilities could contribute to my success as a teacher.

Throughout this demanding process, I discovered more about my potential career path and developed a greater appreciation for the art of professional writing. Despite the challenges, the activities, lessons, and readings provided essential guidance and inspiration, enabling me to create documents that effectively represent my personal and professional journey. This experience has taught me the importance of persistence and continuous learning in my future career.
