A couple of synths and small boxes to paint sonic wonders : it is with a picture in mind that Verbo Pluriel puts his machines to work.
Nourished by the sounds of jazz and classical music, Verbo Pluriel (formerly known as m3t4 and Ashram Mechanics) developed a passion for electronic music early on, diving into the UK Bass scene during his teenage years. His journey as a DJ began in the mid 2000s, spinning at club nights across Europe and even Japan, sharing the stage with influential acts like Noisia, Goth-Trad, and Plastician. Around this time, he launched his own music label, F4TMusic, which became a platform for many underground artists such as Afriqua to make their mark on the scene.
In the mid-2010s, after years of successful DJing, VP decided to shift focus from performing to producing. He released four EPs under the moniker "Ashram Mechanics" between 2014 and 2020, including the notable track "Murphy's Law" which randomly gained viral traction on TikTok, amassing over 1,400,000 plays to this day. All these tracks are available on streaming platforms and through the Ashram Mechanics YouTube channel.
In 2017, he transitioned to the name Verbo Pluriel, which marked a new era in his musical expression. Establishing his studio in Paris, he refined his approach, crafting sonic wonders with minimalistic setups—just a few synths and small boxes that allow him to paint vivid auditory landscapes. His technique centers around creating with a picture in mind, leading to unique, dubbed-out, space-time sonic oddities.
“Hicks EP” was released in March 2020 on Irenic, a split 12" that further expanded his presence in the electronic music scene and introduced his new persona. The record garnered support from artists like Varhat, Roger Gerressen, Zya and Andrea Ferlin. However, the onset of COVID-19 led to a pause in his recording activities. During this time, Verbo Pluriel curated a selection of tracks for future releases and delved into blockchain technologies, venturing into the realm of crypto art.
In 2021, the Effigies NFT series marked his return to releasing music under his imprint Vague Seconde. The series, which was achieved in 2023, bridges the gap between music and crypto-art, introducing Geo Sadi on the artworks.
Most recently, Verbo Pluriel released a number of noteworthy projects :
